In February 2019, Pope Francis made a historic visit to the UAE that culminated in a Papal Mass at Zayed Sports City Stadium. Over 130,000 worshippers were in attendance, with gates opening before sunrise, and multiple waves arriving from all over the region.
Vibes deployed 1,700 team members within the venue. On-the-ground staff included registration teams to ensure smooth check-ins, scanners to validate entry, and crowd control to manage volumes. Buggy drivers served elders and families on longer routes, while People of Determination were assisted by specially appointed POD assistants.
Ushers were stationed throughout the stadium to help with wayfinding and seating congregants before the liturgy. Staff supervisors kept a close eye on staff positions and moved teams around when needed. We also supplied staff to cover lost and found, runners and more. The event was a strong demonstration of how Vibes handled historic moments in the UAE with its staffing expertise.
